German Cello Bow, *Albert Nurnberger*, c.1960

A beautifully crafted cello bow from one of the preeminent German Bow workshops of the 19th and 20th centuries, comprising an octagonal pernambuco stick with silver mounted ebony frog which is decorated with pearl eyes; the adjuster of ebony fully sheathed in silver.

The “Albert Nürnberger” workshop was founded around the early 1850’s and continued in a long family line of highly skilled bowmakers all using the ‘*Albert Nürnberger*’ name stamp, in homage to Franz Albert Nürnberger, the founder. The stamp displays different formats throughout the years.

Bows from the Albert Nürnberger workshop are highly acclaimed throughout the playing fraternity and have been used by many internationally famous players. This bow would suit the advanced student or professional player.
